West Sussex, Sunday 11 March 2012

Another visit to Worthing to try and get a better shot of the Yellow Browed Warbler. Unfortunately the early promise of sunshine quickly turned to gloom and although the bird showed well I was unable to improve on the shots from earlier in the week before it settled into the denser cover.

So onto Pulborough Brooks which was equally gloomy and rather quiet (in terms of birds not people) and I was unable to locate the firecrest on this occasion. Made do with a nice singing dunnock and the now faniliar water rail before deciding to head even further inland in search of some better light

Arrived at Warnham around 1pm and finally the sum broke through. Nice views of another Water Rail, GSWoodpecker, nuthatch, various tits and finches but I was really interested in significantly improving my shots of redpoll. This nice male would have been great with a less cluttered background.
